PSG hoping to sign Ziyech on loan before window shuts - Morocco star in need of game time
Paris Saint-Germain head coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed that the Ligue 1 side are working on a deal to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech on loan before the end of the January transfer window. The Morocco international has been heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge for much of the January transfer window and could yet be offered an exit from the London club.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday afternoon, Galtier responded to questions about the imminent arrival of Ziyech and confirmed that the club were working on a deal for the winger. “We’re working on a Hakim Ziyech deal,” said the coach, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. “It’s true and talks are on going. I don’t want to say more as he’s a Chelsea player.”
The 29-year-old forward has struggled for game time at Chelsea since making the move to the Premier League from Ajax in 2020 in a deal worth €40m. So far this season, Ziyech has only been afforded 10 league appearances in Graham Potter’s side and has made just four starts for the club. As such, Ziyech has seen his market value fall from a record high of €50m at Ajax in 2019 to where it now stands at just €20m. Perhaps a stint in Paris will prove useful in getting the forward’s career back on track.
